About Me

I'm Sawyer — a data scientist who loves solving problems, building useful things, and finding patterns in messy data. Professionally, that has taken me through sports analytics, healthcare analytics, and enterprise reporting. Personally, I'm someone who enjoys a good lift in the gym, a tough chess position, a competitive Valorant match, and just about anything that gets me moving.

I grew up in Gardiner, New York, a small town that taught me to appreciate both community and the outdoors. I spent a lot of my early years running track and cross country. That mix of endurance, discipline, and competitiveness still shapes how I work today.

I started lifting weights in college and eventually got into powerlifting, which became one of my favorite ways to challenge myself. These days, outside of work, you'll usually find me in the gym, playing sports, watching the NBA, hiking, playing chess, or gaming with friends.

In 2022, I moved to Los Angeles and have loved building a life here. It's been exciting to explore a new city, meet new people, and combine my interests in sports, analytics, entertainment, and technology in a place where all of that feels constantly in motion.

What I Do

I currently work as a Data Scientist at OC Sports & Entertainment, where I support ticketing, retail, and fan engagement analytics for the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club. My work includes attendance forecasting, buyer forecasting, churn modeling, retail ETL pipelines, and parking analytics.

Previously, I worked at Kaiser Permanente and Warner Bros. Discovery, where I built executive dashboards, KPI reporting systems, and analytics workflows for leadership teams.

Across all of these roles, I enjoy translating data into decisions — whether that means forecasting outcomes, building reporting systems, or creating tools that help teams move faster and smarter.
